BELZ

The territory of Belz is bounded to the north and west by the estuary of Etel, to the south by Erdeven and to the east by Locoal-Mendon. It also includes the island Saint-Cado, located on the estuary of Étel, which owes its name to Saint Cadou who would have lived there as a hermit in the sixth century. The territory of Belz, as well as those of Erdeven and Mendon, are dismemberments of the former original parish of Ploemel. The parish of Belz once belonged to the deanery of Pou-Belz.
