Fez is part of the imperial cities of Morocco, it was at several times the capital of the country and is considered today as its spiritual capital.
Fez extends over three sectors: the ancient city (medina), inscribed since 1981 in the UNESCO World Heritage, the royal enclosure and the new districts, established by the French, and which extend today in the surrounding plain.
