The Quiberon peninsula (Gourenez Kiberen in unified Breton and Gouriniz Kiberon in Vannes) is attached to the south coast of Brittany. This rocky tongue which advances of 14 km in the sea, is actually an ancient island connected to the continent by a sand, continuation of the strike extending to Étel; at the entrance of the peninsula, the Isthmus of Penthièvre is less than 100 meters wide.
To the west, facing the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, the Wild Coast has a rocky landscape of cliffs, while in the east the Bay of Quiberon, western Mor Braz, form a body of water sheltered prevailing winds and popular with holidaymakers.
